Domains

Domains a.k.a. web addresses; are required to access any website on the internet.

At WebTerritory you have a choice of renting/buying one of our existing domains or finding one of your own. If you already have a domain – skip to the bottom.

Note: Both our recommended domain-host and our web-host offer a full range of services such as domain registration and web-hosting. It is that WebTerritory believes that one offers better domain-hosting value and the other offers better web-hosting value for the money. Of course, you can research each and decide on which provides which services you require. Please use our links when ready to purchase any services from them, this allows them to know that it was WebTerritory that recommended them.

Want a domain?

Go to our domains host to find a new domain or browse some of the available domains we already have.

BTW: Transfer of any domain WebTerritory sells requires payment upfront, if your requested domain is still available we will contact you with the price and authorize the transfer once payment has been received.

Looking for one of those new TLD?

Fancy Street Sign

A TLD (Top Level Domain) would be a .com or .org for example, the new TLDs could almost be anything like .store or .online or .website and many many more.

The domain-host you choose may not have every TLD available for your domain. If the TLD is not available with the domain-host please contact us with your requested new domain and the TLD you want, if there’s domain-host available for that TLD, we can find it for you.

Already have a domain you want to use?

If so, you have two options…

  1. Transferring to our domain-host (registrar)New Home
    • You retain ownership of your domain, you are just changing who maintains your domain record. Also, the transfer will not change the DNS record and the DNS record will need to be changed if changing web-hosts (see option two).
    • Due to ICANN’s transfer policy, you will be receiving emails to confirm the transfer of the domain. The transfer may not happen or be delayed if you don’t confirm, this process is there to protect you from domain hijacking. Again this is NOT transferring ownership, just who has your domain records.
    • Our recommended domain-host is very easy to work with, however, you can contact us if you have any questions or need help.
    • Once a domain has been transferred, it cannot be transferred again for 60-days.
  2. Keep it at your existing registrar
The web-host will usually provide the necessary DNS information required to point your domain to your website. Once you have that information…Update Home
    1. You can maintain/update the DNS record of your domain at your registrar yourself or
    2. We can maintain/update the DNS records on your behalf, however, we would need your domain registrar account access information (do not email this). Please contact us with your domain, registrar login info, and the web-host you chose.
      • We make changes to the admin and technical contact record so that we can be informed of any future changes to the domain DNS record, We DO NOT change the owner/registrant contact. Because of ICANN’s policies, you may be receiving emails to confirm any changes to your domain contact records, this process is there to protect you from domain hijacking.
      • Please READ any emails from your registrar, check your junk/other folder if you don’t see any messages from us or your registrar. If found other than in your inbox, please whitelist or flag ‘not junk’ the message (especially any from your registrar).
      • Also, changes to certain contact info elements of a domain may lock the domain from being able to be transferred (60-days), again to protect from domain hijacking.
